Motors for endodontics

Motors with very low friction torque
Low inertia to enable optimal operation in reciprocal mode

Brushless motors are used more and more frequently in treating root canal diseases (endodontics). Compared to traditional brush-DC motors, they offer a significantly longer lifespan, particularly when used in reciprocal mode. They also offer precise position control thanks to their Hall effect sensors.

Electromag has developed extensive experience in this market, offering high-performance and innovative motorization solutions. The motors feature slotless magnetic circuits, guaranteeing rotation with no reluctant torque and a very low level of no-load losses. These motors can be operated with very precise torque control, allowing the pulp to be extracted while limiting the risks of rupture.

The motors can be fully integrated according to housing dimensions specified by each customer, and can comply with standardized interfaces such as ISO 3964. They can also be supplied with a harness equipped with connectors.

Success story: endodontic motor

Recent progress in endodontic techniques has revealed a need for small brushless micromotors that offer high efficiency and torque with very low no-load loss levels.

To meet this need, Electromag has developed a motor which uses a new, perfectly optimized magnetic circuit. The motor includes a very high density coil that uses a rectangular magnetic wire, for which the company has been granted a patent. This coil offers outstanding electromechanical characteristics, the primary advantages of which are low electricity consumption and high torque density.

The result is a very small, light, motor that fits perfectly in the dentist's tool, which is therefore very comfortable to use.
